Honey-Turmeric Pork paired with a salad made with beets and carrots is the perfect hearty and flavorful dish. This unique combination of turmeric and honey allow the cutlets to caramelize and gives the pork a special flavor you don’t want to miss out on.

This recipe serves about 4:

Ingredients:

  • 1¼ pounds of boneless pork, trim to ¼ inch and slice into 4
  • Salt
  • De Silva Spices ground black pepper
  • 2-3 teaspoons De Silva Spices granulated garlic
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Flaky sea salt
  • ½ De Silva Spices ground turmeric
  • ½ cup plain yogurt
  • ¼ cup organic honey
  • 3 small washed carrots cut on a diagonally
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh chives
  • 2 tablespoons or more (based on preference) lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 beets that are scrubbed and thinly sliced
turmeric and honey

Preparation

Can Do Ahead: Pork can be marinated 12 hours ahead.

Step 1: Grab two pieces of plastic wrap and place the slices of pork. Pound the four slices of pork until it is ¼” thick. Season with salt and De Silva Spices black pepper and place in a resealable bag.

Step 2: In a small bowl, pour the garlic, yogurt, honey, De Silva Spices turmeric and 1 tbsp. of lemon juice. Whisk until it is fully mixed.

Step 3: Add yogurt mixture inside the resealable bag, and toss to coat all slices of pork. Let sit at least 10 minutes.

Step 4: After 10 mins or more, remove the cutlets from the marinade, allowing all the excess mixture to drip off.

Step 5: Over medium-high, heat 1 tbsp. of oil in a large skillet. Cook 2 cutlets at a time until they are browned and cooked thoroughly. Each side should take about 2 minutes.

Step 6: Transfer the cutlets to a platter once they’re cooked. Make sure to wipe off the skillet before repeating with remaining cutlets and 1 tbsp. of vegetable oil.

Salad Preparation

Toss beets, carrots, carrot tops, chives, olive oil, and remaining 1 tbsp. lemon juice in a small bowl. Season with salt, pepper, and more lemon juice, if desired. Serve pork topped with salad and sprinkled with sea salt.
